Hand Sculpture Study

First project using Monster Clay, a re-usable sulphur free oil based clay. This hand sculpture kept me busy during the initial covid-19 lockdown here in the UK.

Used my own hand as a life reference. Model itself is life size.

The hand contains a twisted aluminium wire based armature, although I had to adjust (or rather cut off) parts of this when the pose needed correcting. Was overall happy with the result.

Lots learnt, made the appeal of working with a traditional medium very apparent.
